Sawgrass Grove is on Marilee Place along Meggison Road. An Aug. 10, 2022 update on the developer's site places it next to Ezell Recreation Complex and Southern Oaks Championship Golf Course. It is one of five squares on the official squares directory for The Villages community.
Its own page, checked Oct. 9, 2026, describes an orange grove-inspired setting with free live music on the Boxcar Stage, plus Sawgrass Tavern and a variety of shops and eateries in The Market. It lists hours of 8 AM to 10 PM daily. Tenants and hours change, so check its current page before you plan around any one of them.
Ezell Recreation, at 769 Marilee Place, is described on its page as being at Sawgrass Grove. It honors longtime golf course architect Ken Ezell, and the 18-hole Clifton Cove Putting Course is next door.

"Sawgrass Grove Area" is a marketing name the developer uses for homes. It is not a numbered residential district, and no official source maps villages to a square. District 13 is in the City of Wildwood, Sumter County. Southern Oaks Championship Golf Course, next to the square, is in the Village of St. Catherine in District 13. In a July 14, 2021 article on Citrus Grove, also in District 13, the developer described the then-future Sawgrass Grove area as a golf car ride away. District 14 covers Dabney, Lake Denham and Newell in the City of Leesburg, Lake County. Developer articles place a Lake Denham neighborhood (Aug. 22, 2023) and a Dabney neighborhood (Sept. 18, 2023) in the Sawgrass Grove Area. The Lake Denham article describes it as a short golf car ride from McGrady's Pub and The Market at Sawgrass Grove.

District 13 is large, with about 8,062 home sites per the District, so the distance to the square depends on the village. Check the actual route from the specific address, by car and by golf car.
Buying near Sawgrass Grove
Start with the parcel. The property appraiser record shows the county, and the tax bill shows the extra district charges the owner pays, including the bond assessment and district maintenance. Sumter County homes are on the Sumter County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector sites. Lake County homes are on the Lake County Property Appraiser and Tax Collector sites.
Get the numbers in writing before you compare homes. The District Bond Team (352-751-3900) gives the bond balance for the unit. Compare the actual tax bills side by side. Two homes that look alike on either side of the county line can have different bills.

Pricing a Lake County home against Sumter County comps without adjusting for the tax bill, or the reverse.
